How to Adjust (Tighten or Loosen) Clip Earrings
How to Adjust Clip-on or Clip-Back Earrings

To loosen an earring that is too tight:
Insert a tweezers under the "tongue" of the clip and gently raise very slightly.  The
tongue is that little bar in the center of the earring near the hinge end.

To tighten an earring that is too loose:
Straighten or bend the "tongue" to flatten.  (Opposite of how to loosen)   This may
be easier if you remove the paddle back first.  Use a pair of pliers (needle nose or
other non-marring pliers work well) to squeeze the paddle on the sides so the little
notches come out of their hinge holes.  Straighten or bend the tongue in the
desired manner, and reinsert the paddle into the appropriate hinge holes.
